Nats Tropies
Although we commonly talk about R/C events, it is not usual to refer to Control-Line as C/L or Free Flight as F/F.

FAI is the abbreviation for Federation Aeronautique Internationale - watch out for confusion with F1A (F one A) an individual Free Flight class.

Free Flight Champion Open NZMAA Trophy, calculated by taking all Free Flight events except Scale.

Free Flight Champion Junior
FFONZ (Free Flighters of NZ) Junior Trophy presented by Airsail Int'l, calculated by taking all Free Flight events except Scale.

Control Line Champion Open
Airsail Trophy, presented at the first Nationals 1948/49 for Control-line speed Champion, changed to overall Control-line Champion, calculated by taking all Control Line events except Scale.

Scale Champion Open NZMAA Scale Champion Trophy
presented by Christchurch Model Aero Club Inc, all Scale events are included (but not Scale Aerobatics -IMAC)

Radio Control Champion Junior Canterbury Sail Planes Trophy, calculated by taking all R/C events except Scale.

Champion of Champions Junior Modelair Trophy, presented at the first Nationals 1948/49 by Fred MacDonald, was originally for F/F Rubber and Glider classes, redesignated (the contestant's best three results for each of Radio Control, Free Flight, Scale and Control-line)

Champion of Champions Open Airsail Trophy, presented at the first Nationals 1948/49 the winner is now determined by taking the contestant's best three results for each of Radio Control, Free Flight, Scale and Control-line

Airsail Trophy, Champion Modeller Junior, The winner is determined by totalling the contestant's point from ALL official events.

Champion Modeller Open Keilkraft Trophy, Presented by Eddie Keil (UK) in 70's. The winner is determined by

totalling the contestant's point from ALL official events.

Champion Club HMV Trophy,
presented at the first Nationals 1948/49 and keenly contested ever since.

Originated by Les Wright well known developer of early R/C systems. The winning club is determined by taking ALL points for each club's members in ALL official events.

Indoor Peanut Scale F/F Indoor Peanut, Donated by ETA Nuts Ltd - the original trophy was lost and a fitting replacement was found

FAI power (F1C)
made from a propellor blade from the TEAL Flying Boat Aotearoa

Macdonald Memorial Trophy

As originally envisaged, the Macdonald Memorial Trophy was to mark ‘Outstanding achievement in, or contribution to, aeromodelling in New Zealand in any one year’ Not awarded lightly, it is not necessarily presented each year. Persons worthy of the Award have been sought periodically through outlets such as NZ Newsletters and Nationals Programmes. The trophy was first awarded in 1954 and has continued to occupy a major role in the Association’s affairs to the present day, although the history of its presentation shows a period from 1960 to 1987 during which few names came forward. In recent years there have been a number of worthy recipients.
