Round 1 is in the books! A really beautiful day at Mercer with the sounds of rowers in the river, drag racing over the hill at Meremere, and a Spitfire roaring out of Ardmore in the distance.

We had a great turnout of fliers on the field, too. Seven in F2B and four in Sportsman.

Here are the results:

F2B
1 Loren Nell 4437.0 1000.0
2 Kevin Barnes 4352.0 980.8
3 Kim Webby 4201.0 946.8
4 Danny Walker 4197.0 945.9
5 Don Robinson 3541.0 798.1
6 Chris Allen 3332.0 751.0
7 Dave Wright 345.0 77.8

Sportsman
1 Bryce Rackley 720.0 1000.0
2 David Ackery 712.5 989.6
3 Graeme Duncan 623.5 866.0
4 David Thornley 550.5 764.6

The next round of the Series is at the Waharoa Nationals on the 5th of January 2015

Note - the Waikato round is at Mercer on Waitangi weekend, not at Horotiu as with previous years.

The next round is at the Waharoa Nationals.

Round Two of the 2015 Stunt Series was at the Waharoa Nationals. Note - Sportsman and Classic stunt were combined, so Dave and Kevin, being ineligible for Sportsman, are not included in the Sportsman results for the Stunt Series. Here are the results:

The third round of the 2015 Stunt Series has been completed in glorious Waikato weather and saw some of the best F2B performances ever flown in NZ. Loren and Kevin have certainly raised the bar in their preparations for the Perth World Champs next year!

Here are the results of the Waikato round of the Stunt Series:

Stunt Series 2015 has concluded, results have been collected, tables collated and winners determined. For those wondering how the Stunt Series scores are collated, here's the gist of it:

The series runs from October to May each flying season and takes the flight scores from each round and converts them in proportion to the winning score on a scale from 0 to 1000 points. Over the series, each competitor's top three performances are added to give their overall score for the season, thus the maximum for three wins is 1000 points. In the event of a tie for overall winner the countback is on wins outside the best three, then points overall. The overall winner gets first pick from the prize pool. Second pick from the prize pool goes to the winner of the draw, which includes one entry for every paid entry in a stunt series round and each of the volunteer judges.

Congratulations to Loren Nell, winner of the F2B Series for the third time running with a maximum possible score of 3000 (backed up by a fourth win on countback). Another great set of performances and some really excellent flight scores that will set Loren up very well in preparation for next year's World Champs in Perth.

Congratulations also to Bryce Rackley, who has come back out of the duck swamp and remembered how to fly the Sportsman schedule to take three victories for maximum points in the Sportsman division.
