Control Line in Wellington

Control Line in Wellington

Postby Bob Palmer » Sun Mar 17, 2013 1:19 pm

In an attempt to get renewed interest in control line in the Wellington area, I have negotiated with the WMAC committee to mow a control line circle at Trentham our main flying site for radio control electric/IC and helicopter. The hope is that seeing control line in action, it may motivate some flyers of other disciplines to try control line. Also flyers with control line planes, long gathering dust, will bring them out. Anyway that's the theory.

So we now have a circle mowed and read for use (although its still a bit rough but aircraft with strong undercarriages and biggish wheels will be fine).

Here is a short video of me flying on it for the first time. The aircraft in question needs trimming. It has an OS46LA up front. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUPYZe8xvN4

The plan is to have a control line day once a month however we will have to see how it pans out.
