Prototyping: Lasercut, CNC Routing & 3D printing components?

Hey chaps - probably the wrong ***forum** but I'd thought I would ascertain whether it's worth me hawking my services to you guys... I used to build the big version WW1 stuff for PJ and now have a digital prototyping and fabrication facility with the correct gear to make really cool parts.

I guess I'm asking if this would be useful to the modelling community?

:)

You're certainly are on the right place. Can you post some pics of your work?

Hey Brian - thanks for the response :)

Here's a few projects I scratch built >
http://thevintageaviator.co.nz/projects ... production [me and 1 other guy total scratch build with only a 125mm grinder for making steel brackets lol - before we got serious]
http://thevintageaviator.co.nz/projects/be2 [myself and Elliot Eaton built the pictured C-model to 85-95%] engine was different team - but we put it in...total 7 aircraft BE2 c-F
https://www.facebook.com/TheWellingtonM ... tos_stream [some random makings we do at our place with kids, for ourselves and for other clients]

project lead/engineered and built this> http://img-nex.theonering.net/images/sc ... 4_orig.jpg and the other one on the Reading > http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... ington.jpg

+ Full scale tigertank, lancasters, mosquito, loads WW1 trucks buses, guns, props etc - all scratch built. Seen at many airshows around NZ :)

and I'm an ex-model maker for Weta Workshop - did you see the Zoro 2 movie with the exploding train? Build all the carriages and rolling stock for that in 1/5th scale to match a full size loco in looks and operation [even the steam had to be to scale - so we used keyboard cleaner cans upside down to get pressure vapour!... + kingkong miniature ship, LOTR miniature sets etc etc

My wee digital fabrication space also covers:
Electronics/wifi/guidance systems/arduino/embedded
Video systems [i.e. HMD and plane mounted cameras for dogfighting - can even control with laptop with your buddy]
laser cutting, CAD, Digitising
3D printing and modelling
CNC 3-axis [4 if we had the attachment] 2D/3D machining
Props and models for film/commercials

oh and I hold a commercial pilot license - used to fly the Tiger, c180 and Chippie at NZMS/Hood and totally re-built GY20 Minicab ZK-EDX in my conservatory, [that's a bit like a model aircraft] :) > http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/ZK-EDX.html and so I like airplanes!

Does that help? I'm pretty sure we could talk shop :)
