NimH batteries

PostPosted: Fri Aug 08, 2014 8:41 pm
Hello All.

I have purchased my first RC plane. It has an 8 cell, AAA, 9.6v, 650mAH NimH batteries. The charger that came with it for a/c charging is 'output 9.6v-300mA'.

How long should I initially charge them?

Then once discharged how long should I charge them for to get them full again.

At the time of ordering the plane I ordered 2 more battery packs. How long can I keep them uncharged?

What is the life of these batteries, when being used constantly, before they need to be replaced. Approx that is.

Many thanks.

Thank you Bruce.

Your answer is very interesting indeed, I have actually printed it out for future reference as being a long time pensioner you tend to forget a little over time, a bit like a discharging battery you explained!!

The batteries have been bought new, so they'll be flat as.

The charger is very poor. It has no led lights or anything that will guide you, so I will work off your answer.

Many thanks.
